Last month Sky News revealed a rather curious promo for the return of The Murnaghan Show. It saw Dermot Murnaghan depicted in the style of a superhero while a carefully worded ditty played in the background:
‘Murnaghan, Murnaghan, he’s the man, Murnaghan,
Sunday mornings analysing different views, the biggest face in the news,
Look out, here comes the Murnaghan.’
Now word reaches Steerpike that the bizarre video has since caught the attention of Murnaghan’s colleagues, who have taken to ribbing ‘the Murnaghan’ over it when he is in the office. Alas, all of this appears to be wearing thin on ‘the Murnaghan’; Mr S hears that the presenter has told producers that he does not want it to play while he is on air.
While Steerpike is assured by one Sky source that Murnaghan loves the promo, other office members tell a different story. ‘Let’s just say Dermot is not going to live this down anytime in the next year,’ one amused colleague sighs.
