Listen: Ken Livingstone turns on… the Jewish Chronicle

It’s judgment day. Today Ken Livingstone is expected to find out if he has been expelled from Labour, over controversial comments he made last year about Hitler and Zionism. So in the final hours before the verdict, how is Livingstone occupying himself? Well, by talking about Hitler, obviously.

Only now Ken has a new enemy in his sights: the Jewish Chronicle. Yes, in an interview with the Today programme, Livingstone has made the curious decision to single out the Jewish paper for being one of the main causes of his current difficulties:

KL: What caused offence for those people who opened the page of the Jewish Chronicle and saw that the claim that I’d said Hitler was a Zionist.

BBC: So, you blame the Jewish Chronicle for the damage done to Labour by this row?

KL: Yes, by printing a lie.

BBC: So, it’s the Jewish Chronicle’s fault

KL: Not just the Jewish Chronicle, the main cause of this is the Labour MPs who initiated the lie that I’d said Hitler was a Zionist.
