For some time I have been waiting for Digby Jones to return to his good old unpredictable self. It’s happening in tomorrow’s FT where Labour’s trade minister says Darling’s copycat clampdown on non doms will cost Britain. Jones suggests that the non-dom rules have caused people to ask “does this mean you don’t want us?” He adds:
Who has turned seven into five? His boss, Gordon Brown.“I can give you five reasons to invest in Britain before you invest elsewhere in Europe. But maybe there were seven and now there are five”
