It’s reshuffle day – and the ministers thought to be in the danger zone include Justine Greening, Greg Clark, Patrick McLoughlin and Andrea Leadsom. So, with that in mind, one has to admire the decision by Leadsom to write an article for today’s Times’ Red Box on her priorities as Leader of the House of Commons for 2018.
‘Since the general election I’ve been overseeing the preparation of further bills which we will bring forward over the coming 12 months.
In 2018 it will be parliament that supports the most exciting advances our country is making. We will back the development of electric vehicles and the growth of the UK’s space flight sector, as well as investment of billions in infrastructure to support the extraordinary tech of the future. There will be new legislation to keep us secure, tackling terrorism and domestic violence.
And we will take steps to build a stronger economy, helping improve living standards while funding the public services on which we all depend.
